Historical note about the site/monument
- Cittaducale is a municipality in the region of Lazio, Italy. It was established on land from the diocese of Rieti by Pope Alexander VI in 1502. It served as a residential bishopric until the late 18th century. Historical points of interest in the municipality include the Baths of Vespasian and the Church of San Vittorino. The archaeological excavations at the Valle Ottara are located near Cittaducale, and shows evidence of at least three phases of prehistoric settlement in the area. In one of these levels, some evidence of Roman material culture has been identified.
